What Our Readers Say

Arcelie
The futuristic setting only makes Antony’s loneliness feel bigger, like the world has moved on but he hasn’t. Even though not much happens, it’s powerful because it’s about what’s going on inside him. It’s one of those books that makes you sit quietly afterward.

Lucid is well narrated and the setting into the future 2084 actually caught my attention. It is a story of loss, control and conformity. A chilling thought provoking thriller.
Lewis
Lucid: A Novel is a well-written and immersive read with a powerful message. The story explores themes of control, grief, and personal awakening in a believable futuristic setting. The main character’s journey is compelling, and the plot keeps you thinking long after the last page. A solid choice for readers who enjoy dystopian fiction with depth.

I love sci-fi; it's a good way to see the world in a different reality. This is a long listen to get ready to enjoy it. The creepy background music makes things more interesting and gets you in the moment.
Tina
Lucid was disturbing, which is exactly the point. Having it set in 2084 made it even creepier, as did references to Smart and block chain technologies. Living through the Pandemic fueled its emotional impact. Without a decent grip on physiology, I think listeners might be frustrated by the text. That's my only reservation against giving it the highest recommendation. The narrator did a great job with the different voices. The music also added an ominous quality separating chapters.
